What is a Patriot?  DAR recognizes as Patriots not only soldiers, but also anyone who contributed to the cause of American freedom.  To find out if your ancestor is recognized by the Daughters of the American Revolution  as a Revolutionary Patriot that would qualify you for membership in a volunteer women's service organization that honors and preserves the legacy of our Patriot ancestors.  Nearly 250 years ago, American Patriots fought and sacrificed for the freedoms we enjoy today. 

Attend the Genealogy workshop sponsored by Grand River Trail Chapter of the DAR and led by the State of Michigan DAR Geni Team that will provide guidance and assistance into finding your Patriot.  The workshop will be held  at the Salem South Lyon District Library on August 19 at 11:00 a.m.  Bring your own laptop and any information you may have about your hoped for Patriot.
